I have been really busy again of late, but thought I should post a few more from the workshop I attended in October. This image was made at a small creek which feeds into the Au Train River. It was a nice overcast day with pretty much no wind. This helped things sit still and the the shutter speed get long enough to accentuate the motion of the water.
Here are 2 more images from the workshop I attended a couple of weeks ago. These were taken while doing a boat tour along the Pictured Rocks National Shoreline. I found the colors and shapes of the rocks made for some interesting abstract images.
Read detailsThis is another image from the workshop I attended last week. This was the only morning we had clouds. There was no wind to speak of either. All of the other mornings were clear and calm.
This is on the west shore of Pete’s Lake. There was a small window of time where the sun was able to light the bottom of the clouds, but it didn’t last long.
It has been a long while since my last post. I have not had much time to shoot this summer, but have not completely stopped. But, last week I was out of town at a photography workshop in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The bulk on the time was spent outside shooting, and the weather cooperated. Our coldest morning was 41 degrees, and it was in the 70s most of the week.
One of the evenings was spent at Pictured Rocks National Shoreline, where these small falls make their way to Lake Superior.
While walking my dog this evening, my wife pointed out a dragonfly just sitting on a leaf. I quickly grabbed the camera and was able to get a few images before it flew off. He just hung on the edge of the leaf before tiring of me.
Read detailsI was helping a friend photograph a bride a groom prior to the ceremony a few weeks ago. For a series of images, he was using natural light, so I took the opportunity to take a few candid images of the couple with the baby. The photographer was having a hard time getting the baby to look at him, but fortunately, she was fixated on me for a few seconds. During that moment, I was able to capture this image:
