Kitty Hawk is just north of Nags Head, NC. We made our way to the Wright Brothers National Memorial in the early afternoon. We spent far more time than we had anticipated, as the site is larger than expected and contains several trails and displays. Unfortunately, the main visitor center was under construction, but the temporary center had a lot of good information, a small gift shop and several Ranger’s answering questions.

A young boy and his father brought a kite to the top of the hill where the Memorial stands. Exposure is 1/400, f/5.6 @ ISO80.
While the actual Wright Flyer 1 is currently at the Air and Space Museum in DC while the Visitor Center is worked on at Kitty Hawk, there is a bronze version of the scene to the south of the Memorial. Exposure is 1/400, f/5.6 @ ISO80.
